The Complete Guide to Fuser Dichen Mini v6: Hardware Overlay without Frame Loss

When creating complex computer systems (for example, using two PCs for streaming or working with DMA cards), there is often a problem with outputting information from both devices onto one monitor. This is where hardware fuses come to the rescue.

In this article, we will analyze in detail what kind of device it is, how it works, and step by step configure one of the most popular models. — Fuser Dichen Mini v6.

What is a fuser and what is it used for?

Hardware Fuser — this is a specialized device for direct mixing of two video signals into one.

What does it work in conjunction with? As a rule, fuses are used in systems Dual-PC (main + second computer) in conjunction with With DMA cards (Direct Memory Access).

  • Main PC it draws heavy graphics (for example, a game or a resource-intensive program).
  • The second PC processes additional information (outputs radars, statistics, overlays, or widgets for streaming).

How does it work? The fuser receives a video signal from both computers. The second PC has a solid black background. The device uses hardware chromakey technology: it makes all the black pixels from the second PC transparent and "overlays" the remaining interface elements on top of the blank image from the main PC.

The main advantage: The entire frame mixing load falls on the chip of the fuser itself. Your main PC does not lose a single FPS, and the picture is displayed on the monitor with zero latency.

Setup instructions for Fuser Dichen Mini v6

Setting up the device requires care, but if you follow the steps below, the process will take only a few minutes.

Step 1. Preparing the second PC

Before connecting the wires, you need to prepare a second computer. On the second PC, install solid black color as a desktop background. This is what activates the chromakey function: the fuser will understand that the black pixels should become transparent, and the picture from your main PC will appear through them.

Step 2. Correct connection

Place the Fuser Dichen Mini v6 on the table and connect the cables in the following order:

  • HDMI Output — Connect the cable to your main monitor.
  • HDMI 1 (Host) — to the graphics card of the main (most powerful) PC.
  • HDMI 2 (Secondary) — to the graphics card of the second PC (where overlays are running).
  • DC12V — to the complete power supply (usually it is 12V 2A).

After connecting, turn on both computers and the power supply. The LED indicators on the body of the fuser will light up, which means that the device is receiving video signals.

Step 3. Setting the resolution and frequency (Critical step)

In order for the picture not to be distorted and the chromakey to work perfectly, the video signals must be synchronized.

  1. The same parameters: Both PCs should output the same resolution and the same the refresh rate (for example, strictly 1920 x 1080 at 144 Hz on both PCs).
  2. Color depth: Go to the control panel of your graphics card (NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin) on both PCs. Make sure that the color depth is set to 8 bits, and the color format — RGB. This will prevent color shifts, which may cause the black background to be recognized incorrectly.
  3. If the picture contains artifacts: Hold down the button K1 on the body of the fuser. It will cycle through the internal resolution profiles until the image on the monitor is perfectly clear.

Step 4. Fuser control (Buttons K1–K4)

There are physical buttons on the case of the Dichen Mini v6 for on-the-fly control, without installing third-party programs.:

  • The K1 button (Resolution / Info): A short press switches the resolution. If you hold down the button for about 3 seconds, a Chip ID (for example, XILINX 7020) will appear in the upper—left corner of the screen, so you can verify the authenticity of the chip.
  • K2 button (Intensity): Adjusts the strength of the overlay (Chroma Key/Matting) in the range from 0 to 20. Tap it to perfectly remove the remnants of the black background if the overlay merges or is poorly visible.
  • K3 Button (Reset): Instantly resets the overlay intensity level to factory zero.
  • K4 button (Modes): Enables or disables the Fusion Mode itself. If you hold down K4 for 2 seconds, the monitor will switch to image display only from the second PC.

Important tips and problem solving

  • Use high-quality cables: All the HDMI cables in your bundle must be versions of 2.0 or higher. If at least one cable is old, it will limit the refresh rate of the entire system (for example, the monitor will not output more than 60 or 90 Hz).
  • Pink or purple screen: If the colors are distorted after setting, go back to Step 3 and check the color depth (8 bits/RGB) again in the graphics card settings of both computers.
  • Automatic EDID: There is no need to manually flash the EDID (display information) in the Fuser Mini. The device automatically reads and generates EDID data based on your monitor.
  • Why do I need a Type-C port? This connector is used exclusively for firmware service updates by the manufacturer. The user does not need it for work.
  • A black screen? Check the color and resolution settings again.
  • How do I activate it in the game? When you have everything set up and launched the necessary software on the second PC, just click K4 to activate the overlay on top of your game.

By following these instructions, you will be able to unlock your full potential. Fuser Dichen Mini v6 and get a perfectly smooth picture with all the necessary overlays!
